Sahiwal: One Dead, Two Injured in Firing Over Minor Dispute

SAHIWAL – A petty dispute escalated into a deadly armed clash in Chak 101/9L, within the jurisdiction of Dera Rahim Police Station, leaving one man dead and two others, including a woman, critically injured.
Following the incident, the District Police Officer (DPO) of Sahiwal took immediate notice, leading to the arrest of both primary suspects within an hour.
Details of the Incident
According to police sources, the violence erupted over a trivial grudge. The primary accused, identified as Tauseef, along with his accomplices, allegedly opened fire indiscriminately.
The casualties reported are:
Deceased: A man named Jaffer, who succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Injured: Shahnawaz and an unidentified woman, both of whom sustained severe gunshot wounds.
Rescue and Medical Procedures:
Upon receiving the alert, rescue teams rushed to the site and transported the deceased and the injured to Sahiwal Teaching Hospital. Authorities have initiated legal proceedings following the post-mortem of Jaffer and the medical examination of the survivors.
Rapid Police Action
DPO Sahiwal, Mohammad Usman Tippu, ordered an immediate crackdown on the perpetrators. Under the supervision of SHO Dera Rahim and In-charge Chowki Shireen Wala, Zahid Hussain, the police launched a high-speed operation:
First Arrest: The central suspect, Tauseef, was apprehended shortly after the shooting.
Second Arrest: Following an intensified search operation ordered by the DPO, the second suspect, Sagar, was taken into custody within just 60 minutes.
Police Stance and Future Course of Action
A spokesperson for the Sahiwal Police confirmed that a formal case has been registered and the investigation is being expanded to identify any potential facilitators.
