Rescue 1122 Conducts Round-the-Clock Flood Evacuations in Sahiwal

Rescue 1122 teams in Sahiwal continue evacuating flood-affected residents 24 hours a day from 10 flood rescue posts set up along the Ravi River. District Emergency Officer Dr. Khalid Abdullah reported that the flood situation in the river remains critical.

Following instructions from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Rescue 1122 remains on high alert across Punjab in vulnerable flood areas.

Teams at flood rescue posts in Dad Baloch, Kora Shah Zairin, Qutub Shahana Bridge, Murad Dalo, Nuran Sanpal, Dadra Bala, Murad ke Kathia, Sial Jhangi, Chak Bandi, and Abadi Amirabad evacuate people and move them to safe locations. Despite canceled leaves, rescue personnel work tirelessly day and night to serve the public.

So far, they have rescued over 386 people, including women and children, and relocated 208 animals to safe areas. Trained boat operators use their expertise to conduct safe evacuations, even when they encounter venomous snakes in some locations.

Dr. Khalid Abdullah visited flood-affected areas and rescue posts, reviewed all resources, and gave special instructions to ensure smooth rescue operations. He praised the brave teams who continue working despite heavy rains and adverse conditions and assured the district administration and the public that Rescue 1122 is fully prepared to handle such emergencies.
