Okara Traffic Police Intensify Crackdown: Over 1,000 Fines Issued in 24 Hours

OKARA – In a major push to ensure road safety and strict adherence to traffic laws, the Okara Police have established specialized Traffic Enforcement Points across all major highways and thoroughfares in the district.
According to a spokesperson for the Okara Police, the crackdown has yielded significant results within the last 24 hours as part of an ongoing campaign to curb violations and prevent accidents.
Enforcement Statistics
The scale of the operation is reflected in the following data released by the department:
Total Challans: 1,013 traffic tickets were issued for various offenses.
Fines Collected: A total of Rs. 1,971,000 in fines was imposed on violators.
Impounded Vehicles: Dozens of vehicles were shifted to police stations for serious legal breaches.
Major Violations Noted
The police focused heavily on life-threatening violations and documentation issues:
One-Way Violations: 193 individuals were penalized for driving on the wrong side of the road.
Helmet Safety: 297 motorcyclists were fined for failing to wear safety helmets.
Unlicensed Driving: Action was taken against 190 individuals found operating vehicles without a valid driving license.
