VC AIOU Inaugurates State-of-the-Art Regional Campus in Sahiwal

SAHIWAL (News Reporter) – Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Professor Dr. Nasir Mahmood, has emphasized that educational institutions must embrace modern trends like Artificial Intelligence (AI) to meet the demands of the digital age.

He shared these views while addressing the grand inauguration ceremony of the university’s newly constructed, state-of-the-art regional campus in Sahiwal. The event was attended by Director General Regional Services Dr. Malik Tauqir Ahmed, Regional Director Dr. Ahmar Zulfiqar Ahmed Noon, and other prominent educational and social figures.

During the briefing provided to the Vice Chancellor, the following details regarding the facility were highlighted:

VC’s Address: Bridging Education and Character Building

Dr. Nasir Mahmood urged teachers to focus on the character building and training of students rather than just awarding degrees, ensuring they become productive members of society.

“Allama Iqbal Open University is the first distance-learning university in Asia and the second in the world. Its model is now being adopted by universities across the globe,” the Vice Chancellor noted.

Expanding Educational Reach

Director General Regional Services, Dr. Malik Tauqir Ahmed, congratulated the residents of Sahiwal, stating that the university is successfully bringing education to everyone’s doorstep. Currently, the Sahiwal region caters to the academic needs of over 25,000 students using modern educational frameworks.
