Floodlight Tent Pegging Electrifies Noorshah as Thousands Gather for Baba Muhammad Shaheed Urs

Over 50 tent pegging teams from across Punjab participated in Noorshah event.

SAHIWAL – The night sky over Noorshah was illuminated this week as traditional sports took center stage during the annual Urs celebrations of Baba Muhammad Shaheed. A thrilling floodlight tent pegging competition, held at Mouza Tootwala, drew over 50 teams from across Punjab, showcasing the region’s rich equestrian heritage.

A Spectacle of Skill and Tradition

The event was organized by Pir Zulfiqar Ali Shah Khagga and Pir Yasir Ali Shah Khagga, continuing a long-standing tradition of blending spiritual festivities with rural sports. As the beat of the drums echoed through the air, riders demonstrated precision and speed, captivating a massive audience that had traveled from far-flung villages to witness the feat.

The competition featured both individual and team contests, with spectators providing a roar of applause for every successful strike. At the conclusion of the event, Pir Yasir Ali Shah Khagga presented the championship trophy to the winning team, marking a high point of the evening.
