Sahiwal Police Rescue Teen Electrician from Faisalabad After “Honey Trap” Abduction

SAHIWAL – In a successful high-tech operation, the Sahiwal police have safely recovered a 17-year-old electrician, Muzammil Hussain, from Faisalabad. The teenager had been abducted through a “honey trap” scheme from the Rahman Town (90/9-L) area, with kidnappers demanding a heavy ransom for his release.

The Bait: A Fake Repair Call

According to the investigation details, the ordeal began on the evening of March 24. Muzammil, the younger brother of a local student named Muhammad Hamza, received a phone call from an unidentified woman.

Using a calculated lure, the woman claimed she needed a refrigerator repaired and even transferred Rs. 5,000 as an advance payment via mobile wallet to gain his trust. When Muzammil arrived at the designated location with his tools at 6:00 PM, he was ambushed by the suspects and moved to a hidden location. His mobile phone was immediately switched off.

The Ransom Demand

Following the abduction, the victim’s brother, Muhammad Hamza, began receiving computerized messages from various unknown numbers. The kidnappers provided two JazzCash account numbers and issued a chilling ultimatum:

“Pay a ransom of Rs. 2 million, or Muzammil Hussain will be killed.”

Police Action and Recovery

Initially, there was a three-day delay in the formal registration of the case. However, acting on the complaint of Muhammad Hamza Abrar, the Ghalla Mandi Police eventually registered a First Information Report (FIR) under Section 365-A (Kidnapping for Ransom) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

Under the direct supervision of the District Police Officer (DPO) Sahiwal, a specialized police team utilized advanced surveillance technology and mobile geofencing to track the suspects’ movements.

Key highlights of the recovery:

  • Location Traced: The kidnappers were traced to a hideout in Faisalabad.

  • Successful Raid: Five days after the disappearance, police conducted a strategic raid, safely recovering Muzammil Hussain.

  • Arrests Made: The culprits involved in the scheme were apprehended at the scene and are currently behind bars facing trial.

Staying Safe: Recognizing the “Honey Trap”

A “Honey Trap” is a dynamic where criminals use romantic or financial lures—often involving a female accomplice—to lead a victim into a vulnerable position for robbery or abduction.
