ISPR Press Briefing: Army Warns Against Threatening Anti-State Narratives

Rawalpindi — In a press briefing held today, ISPR Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry warned that certain politically motivated narratives have escalated into a serious threat to Pakistan’s national security. He described these narratives as delusional and self-serving, cautioning that they could undermine the unity between the armed forces and the public.
Lt Gen Chaudhry opened the briefing by congratulating the nation on the inauguration of the Chief of Defence Forces’ new headquarters, calling it a significant step toward strengthening coordination and operational efficiency within the military.
Highlighting the apolitical and inclusive nature of the armed forces, he emphasized that the military represents all of Pakistan, regardless of region, religion, or political affiliation. “No force can be allowed to divide the armed forces and the people of Pakistan,” he said.
While refraining from naming any individual but clearly against former PM and PTI founder Imran Khan, the DG ISPR made it clear that ego-driven political rhetoric targeting the military poses a risk to national stability. He warned that such actions will not be tolerated, stressing that while constructive criticism is welcome, attempts to incite unrest or discredit the armed forces cross a red line.
Lt Gen Chaudhry also instructed political parties to respect constitutional boundaries and avoid involving the military in political disputes. He reassured the nation that the armed forces remain united, resilient, and fully committed to protecting Pakistan’s sovereignty and integrity.
Concluding the briefing, he urged citizens to support a peaceful and stable environment, underscoring that the strength of the nation lies in unity and mutual respect between the military and the people.
