Sahiwal Marks Major Tech Milestone with Launch of IT Association
The formation of IT Association in Sahiwal will lead to the expansion of IT-related businesses.
SAHIWAL – In a significant move to bolster the local digital economy, Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Malik Qasim Nadeem officially inaugurated the Sahiwal IT Association during a formal ceremony held on June 19, 2025.
The event, organized by the Office of the Director Public Relations, Sahiwal Division, brought together key political figures, business leaders, and a vast array of tech stakeholders to celebrate what is being called a “milestone” for the region’s development.
IT: The Backbone of Modern Progress
Addressing the gathering, MPA Malik Qasim Nadeem emphasized that the IT sector is no longer an option but a vital necessity. He noted that integrating the younger generation with modern technology is the only inevitable path to national prosperity.
“Information Technology is the backbone of the economy in this era,” Nadeem stated. “By establishing this association, Sahiwal is opening new pathways for business expansion and creating essential employment opportunities for our youth.”

The ceremony saw strong backing from the Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). President Sheikh Azmat Saleem and former President Sheikh Basharat Nadeem were in attendance to show solidarity with the tech community.
A key highlight of the event was the swearing-in ceremony, where President Sheikh Azmat Saleem administered the oath of office to the newly elected representatives of the IT Association. He urged the new leadership to serve the community with honesty and professional integrity.
