Okanwala Police Arrest 11 in Wedding Henna Raids

Chichawatni (Sahiwal News) Police in the Okanwala Bangla area conducted raids on wedding henna ceremonies where dancers were performing, venues were decorated for shows, and loudspeakers were playing inappropriate songs. During the operations, 11 people were arrested while 19 managed to escape.

In Chak 104/12L, Ali Raza Maula’s henna ceremony featured dancers on a decorated stage, with guests showering them with cash. Police raided the event and arrested the groom Ali Raza Maula, Shahbaz, Asif, and Ijaz, while six other participants managed to flee. The accused also set off fireworks during the celebrations.

In Chak 98/12L, Aqeel, son of Ali Raza Syed, arranged a henna ceremony with female dancers performing on a decorated stage, receiving cash from guests while dancing to vulgar songs played on loudspeakers. Police raided the event and arrested Aqeel Raza, Taimoor, Akmal Raza, Ali Mujtaba, Ehsan Shah, Shaukat Shah, and Riaz Shah, while 12 other suspects escaped.

The Okanaula police filed two cases against 29 spectators, including the two grooms, for violating the Marriage Act and using six unauthorized sound systems, resulting in 11 arrests.
