Sahiwal: Section 144 Imposed for Open University Exams Amid Strict Security

SAHIWAL (News Reporter) – To ensure the transparency and peaceful conduct of the ongoing Semester Autumn 2025 final examinations under the Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Islamabad, the district administration has shifted into high gear.
Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal, Captain (R) Samiullah Farooq, has officially issued orders to impose Section 144 around examination centers across the district. The exams are scheduled to continue until May 11.
Security Measures and Restrictions
According to the notification issued by the administration, immediate protective measures have been taken to prevent the use of unfair means and to avoid any untoward incidents near the testing sites. The key restrictions include:
Restricted Entry: Only candidates carrying valid Roll Number Slips and authorized exam staff are permitted within a 100-yard radius of the examination centers.
Ban on Gatherings: All forms of protests, processions, or public gatherings near the centers are strictly prohibited.
Prohibited Items: Candidates are strictly forbidden from bringing mobile phones, digital diaries, books, guides, solved papers, or any other unauthorized materials into the exam halls.
Strict Vigilance: Special teams have been formed to monitor both staff and students to eliminate the “cheating mafia” and ensure merit.
Affected Examination Centers
Section 144 will be strictly enforced at the major examination hubs in the Sahiwal district, including:
Government Graduate College, Sahiwal
Government Graduate College for Boys, Chichawatni
Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Jahaz Ground, Sahiwal
“Transparency in examinations is our top priority,” stated Deputy Commissioner Samiullah Farooq. “No one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands or disrupt the educational process. Strict legal action will be taken against any violators.”
