‘Pinky’s Brand Name Will Be Her Downfall’: Karachi Police Chief Denies Lahore Arrest

KARACHI — Karachi Police Chief Azad Khan announced a major breakthrough in the high-profile drug trafficking case involving suspect Anmol, alias “Pinky.” Speaking at a press conference, the police chief revealed that the suspect’s phone contained 869 contacts, including 132 numbers based in Karachi, exposing a vast network with international links extending to Africa.

Chief Azad Khan strictly dismissed rumors regarding her arrest, clarifying that she was not apprehended in Lahore.

Key Revelations from the Press Conference

The police chief emphasized that this investigation serves as a “test case” for the department, promising to take it to its logical conclusion.

  • The “Brand” Trap: The suspect operated under a specific brand name to sell high-end drugs. “Mark my words, Pinky’s brand name itself will become the noose around her neck,” Khan stated.

  • Financial Trail: Authorities have obtained the suspect’s bank account details, which reveal suspicious transactions amounting to PKR 30 million (3 crores).

  • The African Connection: The smuggling network is not just local; it involves accomplices and handlers based in Africa. The narcotics were reportedly smuggled into Pakistan from abroad.

Expanding the Crackdown Beyond Karachi

The Karachi Police Chief stressed that the investigation is expanding nationwide and will not be restricted to Sindh’s capital.

“We have already arrested the dealers who bought drugs from her to resell. Now, we are targeting her facilitators,” Khan stated.

As part of the ongoing operation, police conducted a raid at Pinky’s former residence in the Sachal area of Karachi, yielding a fresh recovery of hidden narcotics. While the suspect was hiding out in Punjab prior to her arrest, law enforcement agencies are currently tracking down the remaining local and international nodes of her operation.
