DC Captain (R) Samiullah Farooq Presides Over Polio Campaign Review Meeting

SAHIWAL – Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Samiullah Farooq chaired a high-level meeting today to finalize arrangements for the upcoming anti-polio drive, scheduled to run from February 2 to February 5.

The meeting saw participation from key district officials, including Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Osama Majeed Cheema, ADC (General) Niaz Ahmed Mughal, ADC (Finance) Rana Aurangzeb, Assistant Commissioner Maham Wahid, CEO Health Dr. Azhar Naqvi, and DHO Dr. Muhammad Tahir Chaudhary.

Campaign Targets and Logistics

The health department officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the logistical scale of the four-day campaign. To ensure maximum coverage across the district, the following targets and resources have been established:

  • Target Population: 732,772 children under the age of five.

  • Mobile Teams: 2,086 teams to conduct door-to-door vaccinations.

  • Fixed Centers: 131 static centers at hospitals and clinics.

  • Transit Points: 90 teams stationed at bus stands, railway stations, and entry/exit points.

Security and Zero Tolerance for Negligence

Deputy Commissioner Samiullah Farooq conducted a detailed review of security protocols for the frontline workers. He issued strict instructions to law enforcement and relevant departments to ensure the complete protection of polio teams.

“No negligence will be tolerated in the field,” the DC remarked. “This is a national duty, and every official must perform their role with absolute dedication.”

The DC emphasized that a successful campaign requires more than just government effort; it requires community trust. He urged the involvement of:
