Renala Khurd: Rs 4.74 Billion Development Projects Launched Under PDP

OKARA – To address the growing population and urban needs of the region, the Punjab government has allocated Rs 4.749 billion for the improvement of infrastructure and basic civic amenities in Renala Khurd Tehsil.

Foundation Stone Ceremony

On Sunday, Member of National Assembly (MNA) Chaudhry Nadeem Abbas Rabaira, Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Chaudhry Javed Ala-ud-Din, and Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Usman Javed jointly laid the foundation stone for these development schemes. Speaking to the media, the leaders highlighted that these projects are a key component of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s “Punjab Development Programme” (PDP).

Scope of the Projects

This mega-project focuses on eight core urban facilities aimed at transforming the city’s infrastructure:

  • Sewage System: Replacement of dilapidated sewage lines and installation of a modern drainage network.

  • Water Storage: Construction of underground water storage tanks to ensure a steady supply.

  • Water Treatment: Establishment of a treatment plant for wastewater management.

  • Public Parking: Construction of dedicated parking stands to ease traffic congestion.

  • Municipal Upgrades: Provision of advanced machinery for desilting sewage lines and the construction of parking sheds for municipal vehicles.

  • Parks & Recreation: Upgradation and beautification of four major public parks in Renala Khurd.

  • Street Improvement: Installation of tough tiles in streets and the setup of modern streetlights.

Fulfilling Public Demand

During the ceremony, MNA Nadeem Abbas Rabaira and MPA Javed Ala-ud-Din noted that improving the sewage system has been a long-standing demand of the local residents. They emphasized that these projects have been designed to withstand future population pressure, ensuring that both urban and rural residents receive equal benefits.

Deputy Commissioner Ahmed Usman Javed assured the public that the projects would be completed within the stipulated timeframe and strictly according to quality standards, ensuring that public funds directly benefit the community.
