Sahiwal Commissioner Emphasizes Timely Completion of Development Projects

Sahiwal: Dr. Asif Tufail, Commissioner of Sahiwal Division, has stressed that quality, transparency, and timely completion of development projects remain the top priorities of the Punjab government. He underlined that all development work must be completed within the designated deadlines, and any negligence or lapse will not be tolerated.
The Commissioner made these remarks while addressing a key meeting at his office, which reviewed the progress of ongoing development projects under the PICIIP program in detail.
The meeting was attended by Director Development Shafiq Ahmed Dogar, Deputy Commissioner Capt (R) Samiullah Farooq, Director Local Government Shahid Farooq Warraich, Additional Deputy Commissioner Finance Rana Aurangzeb, Director Agriculture Shahbaz Akhtar, PD Chief PASP Program Umar Javed, Sheikh Tahir, City Manager PASP Program Asjad Ali Khan, along with other relevant officials including the Director Agriculture, Chief Officer Municipal Corporation, MD WASA, and Chinese contractors.
Dr. Asif Tufail directed that water supply projects be completed as soon as possible and handed over to WASA to ensure uninterrupted provision of clean water to citizens.
He also instructed that remaining road construction work in the city be completed immediately, and streetlight installation on newly constructed roads be finalized without delay.
The Commissioner emphasized speeding up development work on major roads, including GT Road, Arattala Road, and College Road, while giving special attention to projects underway on Railway Road and GT Road in the city center.
During the meeting, PD Chief PASP Program Umar Javed, Sheikh Tahir, and City Manager PASP Program Muhammad Asjad Ali Khan provided detailed briefings on ongoing projects in the city.
Dr. Asif Tufail also instructed that all construction work must ensure strict adherence to safety measures, mandatory use of safety belts, and installation of clear signboards at construction sites to safeguard citizens from traffic issues and accidents.
