Deputy Commissioner Sahiwal Visits Special Christmas Bazaar

SAHIWAL: Deputy Commissioner Captain (Retd) Samiullah Farooq visited the special Christmas Bazaar established at the Meat Market in Tariq Bin Ziyad Colony on the occasion of Christmas and reviewed the availability, quality, and prices of essential commodities.

During the visit, the deputy commissioner inspected various stalls set up at the bazaar, where vegetables, fruits, meat, pulses, sugar, flour, ghee, and other daily-use items are being sold at prices lower than those in the open market. He expressed satisfaction over the quality and proper weight of the items and directed the concerned staff to ensure that shoppers face no inconvenience and that sufficient stock is maintained at all stalls.

According to officials, the district administration has set up two Christmas Bazaars in Sahiwal district to provide relief to the Christian community on the occasion of their religious festival. One bazaar has been established in Tehsil Sahiwal at the Meat Market, Tariq Bin Ziyad Colony, while the second has been set up in Tehsil Chichawatni at the Maternity and Child Healthcare Center, Block 18. Both bazaars will remain open from December 20 to December 24.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Samiullah Farooq said that the Christmas Bazaar is a positive and welfare-oriented initiative by the Punjab government aimed at supporting minority communities. He added that the initiative is intended to help citizens celebrate Christmas with ease and joy, without facing financial pressure.
