Sahiwal: Fruits of ‘Suthra Punjab’ Vision Becoming Visible, Says Arshad Malik

SAHIWAL (Special Correspondent) — Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) and Convener of the District Coordination Committee, Muhammad Arshad Malik, has stated that the positive impact of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s “Beautiful Punjab and Suthra (Clean) Punjab” vision is becoming clearly visible across the region.

He expressed these views while presiding over a high-level District Coordination Committee meeting at Montgomery Hall, alongside Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Samiullah Farooq.

Key Highlights and Development Progress

The meeting was attended by elected Members of the National and Provincial Assemblies (MNAs and MPAs) from Sahiwal district, as well as senior departmental heads. The primary agenda was to review the progress of the Punjab Development Program and the Model Village Project.

Allocation of Development Funds:

Massive financial resources have been allocated to ensure the completion of ongoing projects in the district:

  • Tehsil Sahiwal: Projects worth 7.5 billion PKR are currently underway.

  • Tehsil Chichawatni: Development work worth 5.5 billion PKR is in progress.

‘Model Village’ Project and Municipal Services

The committee was briefed that 18 villages across the district have been selected for the initial phase of the “Model Village” project. Work is rapidly progressing to provide these rural areas with urban-standard facilities, including:

  • Restoration and sustainability of sewerage systems.

  • Installation of parks and water filtration plants.

  • Laying of tuff tiles and installation of street lights.

  • Innovative projects for underground rainwater harvesting.

Administrative Directives and Public Redressal

Deputy Commissioner Samiullah Farooq issued strict directives to the relevant departments, emphasizing:

  1. Close Coordination: Departments must maintain constant contact with Parliamentarians and their focal persons during development work.

  2. Public Concerns: Local grievances and concerns must be addressed on a priority basis.

  3. Delivery of Benefits: It is the responsibility of the officers to ensure that the fruits of government initiatives reach the grassroots level.

Concluding Prayers and Gratitude

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Parliamentarians expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for the timely provision of development funds.

The participants also offered Fateha for the departed soul of the mother of Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation, Syed Imran Ahmad Shah, praying for the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.
