Zaira Wasim Condemns Bihar Chief Minister Over Hijab Incident Involving Muslim Doctor

A strong public backlash has erupted after a video showing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar allegedly pulling down the hijab of a Muslim woman doctor during an official ceremony went viral on social media.

The incident reportedly took place at a government event where the chief minister was distributing certificates to doctors. In the video, Nitish Kumar is seen first gesturing to the woman doctor to remove her hijab. Before she could respond, he allegedly reached out and pulled it down himself, sparking widespread outrage.

Former Bollywood actress Zaira Wasim has strongly condemned the incident, calling it an insult to women and a clear violation of personal boundaries. Reacting on her X (formerly Twitter) account, Zaira Wasim described the act as deeply disrespectful and unacceptable.

She stated that power and authority do not grant anyone the right to undermine a woman’s dignity, modesty, or personal autonomy. Zaira Wasim also demanded an unconditional apology from the Bihar chief minister to the affected woman doctor.

The incident has also drawn sharp criticism from political circles. The Congress party termed the act “shameful,” while the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) questioned the chief minister’s conduct and mental state following the controversy.

As the video continues to circulate online, calls for accountability and respect for religious and personal boundaries are growing louder across social and political platforms.
