SAHIWAL – Following the special directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Commissioner Sahiwal Division, Dr. Asif Tufail, conducted a detailed inspection of the "Sahulat Bazaar" (Relief Market) established to provide essential commodities at subsidized rates during the holy month of Ramadan.

Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Captain (R) Samiullah Farooq and Assistant Commissioner Maham Wahid, the Commissioner reviewed the availability and pricing of daily-use items, including flour, sugar, ghee, pulses, fruits, vegetables, meat, and dates.

Strict Monitoring of Quality and Prices

During the visit, Dr. Asif Tufail inspected various stalls to verify the quality and quantity of the goods. He issued strict instructions to the market administration to ensure a continuous supply chain so that citizens do not face any shortages.

"Providing clean, high-quality essential items at affordable rates during this blessed month is the top priority of the Punjab Government," the Commissioner stated.

Comprehensive Facilities for Citizens

Beyond food supplies, the Commissioner inspected the secondary facilities provided at the bazaar, including:

  • Designated Prayer Areas: Ensuring a peaceful space for worshippers.

  • Clean Drinking Water: Free access for visitors.

  • Health Camps & Complaint Cells: Fully functional units to address immediate medical needs or public grievances.

He further directed officials to improve the entry points for smoother public flow and to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the premises.

Nigehban Card Program Oversight

The visit also extended to the Agriculture Department office, where a special desk has been set up for the Nigehban Card Program activation. This initiative, launched by CM Maryam Nawaz, aims to provide targeted relief to deserving families.

The Commissioner monitored the card activation process and guided the staff to maintain transparency and efficiency. "Every deserving citizen must receive their relief without delay or difficulty," he emphasized.
