Farooq Ashraf Sangoka Elected President in Okara District Bar Association Elections 2026

OKARA (January 11, 2026) – The District Bar Association (DBA) Okara successfully concluded its annual elections for the year 2026 in a peaceful and disciplined atmosphere. According to the unofficial and provisional results, Farooq Ashraf Sangoka has been elected as the President of the Bar.

Election Results and Voter Participation

The polling process commenced at 9:00 AM and continued until 4:00 PM without any interruptions. The legal community showed immense enthusiasm, with a significant turnout recorded.

  • President: Farooq Ashraf Sangoka, Advocate High Court, secured the top slot by obtaining 824 votes.

  • General Secretary: Tariq Naseem Mangan, Advocate High Court, was elected with 891 votes.

  • Senior Vice President: Syeda Asma Gillani, Advocate, clinched the position with 856 votes.

According to election sources, out of a total of 1,750 registered voters, 1,508 votes were cast, reflecting the high level of engagement among the lawyers of Okara.

Competitive Spirit and Professional Unity

The election featured a neck-and-neck competition between the Rajput Group and the Arain Group. Despite the intense rivalry during the campaign, the conclusion of the event was marked by professional grace. Upon the announcement of the results, members of both groups demonstrated mutual respect, congratulating one another and upholding the democratic traditions of the bar.

Security and Celebrations

To ensure the safety of the voters and maintain order, local authorities implemented foolproof security arrangements. No untoward incidents were reported throughout the day.

Following the victory announcement, supporters of the winning candidates celebrated with traditional fervor, dancing to the beat of drums and distributing sweets within the court premises. The newly elected cabinet has pledged to work tirelessly for the welfare of the legal fraternity and the upholding of the rule of law.
