Sahiwal Division Achieves Historic Success in Building & Conversion Fee Recovery

SAHIWAL – In a major financial milestone, the local government bodies of Sahiwal Division have successfully recovered hundreds of millions of rupees in government revenue under building and land conversion fees for the fiscal year 2025-26.

To honor this outstanding performance, Commissioner Sahiwal Division, Dr. Asif Tufail, hosted a special commendation ceremony at the Commissioner's Office, awarding shields to the dedicated officers and staff of the Municipal Corporation, District Councils, and Municipal Committees.

Record-Breaking Revenue Breakdown

According to the official data released for FY 2025-26, local bodies across the three districts of the division demonstrated exceptional efficiency in fee collection. The recovery breakdown stands as follows:

Commendation Ceremony and Recognition

The ceremony was attended by senior officials and staff from the local government institutions of all three districts, including Chief Officer Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmed.

Addressing the attendees, Commissioner Sahiwal Division Dr. Asif Tufail highly praised the collective effort, stating:

"The timely and effective collection of government revenue is indispensable for the financial autonomy of local bodies and for providing better amenities to citizens. This historic success is a testament to institutional teamwork, sheer hard work, and rigorous monitoring."

Dr. Asif Tufail emphasized that the boost in revenue collection would directly accelerate the pace of local development projects and elevate the standard of public services. He strictly instructed all officers to maintain absolute transparency, adherence to the law, and meritocracy in the recovery process to strengthen public trust in state institutions.

Expressing his optimism for the future, the Commissioner hoped that the Sahiwal Municipal Corporation and other local bodies would sustain this momentum and continue to achieve their targets with the same zeal. The event concluded with the distribution of honorary shields by the Commissioner to the top-performing employees.
